I don't want to display the transparenet or private fields in the suggest/submit an event page. That just confuses the user.

I tried looking around - but could not find the source code or a place to turn off/hide these fields.

Where do I do this at?

You can hides fields, including the ones you mentioned, from the view settings under the event tab.
